On Saturday, March 2nd, we had the privilege of helping the IIDA Southwest Chapter design rooms for Veterans in need at the Phoenix U.S. Vets Center.
We were given some materials and fabric at the beginning of the day and were told to put together rooms with what we had.
This is the before and after photo of one of the bedrooms.
Here is some of the team opening boxes of the equipment we incorporated in the design.
Hard at work! Azarel, top left, and another participant were assembling the framework for the headboard while Sophie, middle, was creating the its facade with fabric.
More of the team at work, measuring where the headboard should go on the wall and laying out carpet tiles.
James and Axie installing the beautiful headboard.
The end result of the headboard installation. We’ve got our “coincidence of edge” skill mastered!
One of the finished bedrooms. Ta-da!
The other finished bedroom.
Justin and Sophie relaxing at the end of the day. Great job to everyone who participated!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the event and to all of the sponsors who made it possible. All photos are courtesy of James Bailey, Erica Weimann, and Justin Horlyk.
Have a great week!
